Two-photon above-threshold ionization of helium

Multiphoton ionization provides a clear window into the nature of electron correlations in helium atom. In present study, final state energy range extends up to region near $N=2$ and $N=3$ thresholds, where two-photon proceeds via continuum intermediate states above lowest threshold. Our calculations are performed using multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT) streamlined R-matrix method. The sum integration over all amplitude is evaluated inhomogeneous method developed by Robicheaux Gao. seamless connection that with MQDT allows us high resolution spectra Rydberg resonances. analysis classifies resonances threshold terms their group numbers. Their dominant decay channels found obey previously conjectured propensity rule far more weakly for these even parity than was observed odd-parity relevant single photon ionization.
